This is the first trip wen I started to record where I was travelling. For those of you who do not know Derby Works used to be located next to the station in Derby and some of the old HQ bulidings still remain on the other side of the station Car Park. Most of the site has now disappeared under the Pride Park industrial estate. Heavy overhauls were generally carried out at works sites by BREL (Britsh Rail Engineering Ltd).

 

Derby Works used to mainly maintain Sulzer diesels Classes 25, 45, and 46 and some HST power cars which were still relatively new.
