Passenger Lines Travelled Over
A passenger line is as defined in the Rail Atlas of Great Britain and Ireland. A line which has least one passenger service per day in each direction and is coloured black in the atlas. Tramways, Underground and Private Railways have been excluded.
Lines are listed in the order they appear in the Rail Atlas.
All Lines have been travelled over except those listed below:
Passenger Lines in use in 1980 (Rail Atlas 3rd Edition) and still in passenger use
- All lines have been travelled over.
Lines constructed or brought back into passenger use since 1980
- Ashford International connections to CTRL travelling to and from Channel Tunnel
- Ashford International new single line connection from Maidstone East line
- St Pancras Thameslink – East Coast Mainline connections both directions (currently no passenger service over this line)
- Allington East Jn – Allington North Jn (Grantham)
Lines under construction
Through Lines with no regular passenger service
Lines not travelled over:
Ireland
All passenger lines have been travelled over except:
- Glounthaurne – Midleton
- Newcomen Jn – Docklands
- Clonsilla - M3 Parkway
All through freight lines have been travelled over.
