Rove-A-Way 25 October - 01 November 1982

1982 was before computer printed ticketing had arrived in the Britain and most of the tickets were pre printed. Rover tickets were a folded card with a map printed on the inside. This scan is of the actual rover I used this week during the school half term. You may note two problems. Firstly I have been given a adult rover as my local station had no child ones left and the map is incorrectly printed and Crewe to Shrewsbury has been added in red pen. 

Buying a rover in 2009 is not quite the same as during this period as all you get now is the same orange tickets as everything else but with Rover printed on it.

On the Sunday it was possible to visit Crewe Works you turned up at the gate paid a couple of pounds then joined the party and were taken on a visit of all the different sheds to see all the locomotives under repair.
