The 90s
The railway scene of Britain was changing through the 90s with first sectorisation. This was followed by the creation of Train Operating Companies and Freight Operating Companies. The Railway was being split into hundreds of different companies in preparation for privatisation.

Even with much change happening but there was still many parts of the network to visit and loco hauled trains to ride on.

My activities were curtailed somewhat in the mid 90s due to getting married and buying a house. This left no spare funds to go out and seek unvisited parts of the network. However the odd trip did still occur.

Trips out started again in 2008 when my son started to develop an interest in railways. Details of these days out are covered in the main pages of the site.
